A New Home

I have found our dog a wonderful new home! She lives in the country now where she has lots of room to run around and play. She really likes her new owner and her new home. She has lots of new friends to play with...the human and the furry kind. It only took her 3 days to adapt to her new environment.

I miss her but I know I'm doing the best thing for her and for us. I'm surprised our son hasn't asked for her much. He did once and I told him she's gone "bye bye" and he seemed satisfied with the answer and never asked me again.

As much as I miss her, it has really taken a load off my shoulder not to have to tend to her. It looks like we won't be getting another dog any time soon.

Goodbye Ginger...we miss you!!!!!

Decision Time

I've finally made up my mind to see if I can find my dog a good home. I've been going back and forth for weeks. It has been one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make in a long, long time. I've had sleepless nights and bouts of crying and depression when thinking about it. I know it's not good for the baby and I needed to make a decision soon.

I've posted a note in the community to see if anyone is interested to adopt her. So far no real interest. But I will only let her go to a GOOD home. I have a list of questions to "grill" potential new owners. I want her to go to a good home, preferably with a fenced yet and maybe another dog or older kids to play with her. Let's see how it goes. Who can resist that face anyway??!!!

In A Dilemma

Hubby and I have been talking lately about whether to put our dog up for adoption or not. We've had her for over a year. And she's a great dog. But I feel like I can't give her the attention and care she requires. It's such a hard decision to make but I can't help but feel that she'll be happier in a home where there are other dogs for her to play with, with a nice fenced yard and one that will be able to give her the attention and care I think she deserves.

It's hard with hubby gone so much. Two deployments in one year! So unexpected. And it doesn't look like things are going to get any better. Plus, with another child on the way, I'm overwhelmed. As it it, I can't even find time and energy to exercise her. I know she's bored being at home so much. It doesn't help that we don't have a fenced yard for her to run around in. And she needs more exercise as she's a big dog. She's such an affectionate dog and seeks constant attention. But with so much going on, it's hard to give her that time and attention.

What to do? What to do? Such a dilemma.....
